No, NRMA membership is not required to use the NRMA EV charging network. Anyone can charge their electric vehicle at NRMA stations using the My NRMA app, Chargefox app, or tap-and-pay card readers at the chargers. However, NRMA members receive discounted charging rates when they initiate and pay for sessions through the My NRMA app. As of August 2025, members receive a flat 5 cents per kilowatt hour discount on charging.

NRMA uses location-based variable pricing across its charging network, with rates ranging from 40 to 80 cents per kWh depending on the site. Prices vary based on local electricity costs and access fees at each location. Payment can be made through the My NRMA app, Chargefox app, or via tap-and-pay at card reader terminals. NRMA members receive a discount of 5 cents per kWh when paying through the My NRMA app.

NRMA operates Australia's largest regional EV charging network, spanning New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, and the Northern Territory. The network includes over 250 fast and ultra-fast charging stations positioned every 5 kilometres in urban areas and every 100 kilometres on major highways. Through a partnership with the Australian Government's Driving the Nation Fund, NRMA is expanding to connect remote routes including Darwin to Perth and Brisbane to Tennant Creek.
